We just got this snail today to see if our betta would tolerate one. Hopefully there's no competition over the blonde!

he is cute! I have had no luck getting snails to survive in any of my betta tanks because of the low pH, but I know some people keep bettas in neutral or high pH tanks that snails do well in. Good luck!

He's a zebra nerite. Took five different pet stores before I could find any!

I add cuttlebone to my tanks. Keeps the snails happy even with my low ph. There is liquid calcium you can add as well.

I went and got some cuttlebone this afternoon. Now I'm reading I might not really need it if my PH is above 7.0? Or will they need it regardless for the calcium?

It cant hurt. I hide mine in the back of the tank. Just make sure you remove sharp edges.
