So I have a 10 gallon and I ordered a 16 inch hood for it but I was wondering will my bannana plants,Water wysteria and anubias nana be ok with a 20 watt incadescent bulb?

Are you sure it's incandescent? Because if it is, then no. If it's a fluorescent then it probably will be ok as long as you get the right wavelength.

They won't be ok with a incadescent well wait I will give you the hood and so you can see if I can fit a fluorescent in there

Yes, it's advertised to be used with incandescent bulbs. The good thing about that though is that you can buy compact fluorescents (the kind that screw into a socket like a regular lightbulb) and get way more light that will grow your plants just fine

Ok can you give me a link for a bulb that is cheap and good that I could buy preferably at a store.

I'm going to assume you're in the US so here's one available at the Home Depot that should fit:

Those are the mini-bulbs but if you have room for a bigger bulb you can possibly fit the 23w type which will give you way more light than you probably need

Basically look for either 6500K or Cool White in a Compact Fluorescent/CFL bulb.

Can you just swap out an incandescent for a fluorescent? I didn't think you could.

Can you cancel your order and get a glass lid (or get one from Lowe's) and a different light?

Absolutely! CFL's have the ballast built-in and were meant to be used in ordinary light fixtures.

6 bulbs for $20 is pretty cheap! If you shop around I'm sure you can find individual bulbs for sale. I'm not in the US though so I don't know where would be closest to you

You can also buy tubular LED's now. Pretty powerful ones too.
