The Kuhli Loach Project!

You guys are shook that I'm in this thread section! Anyway I just showed my mom how cute Kuhlis are because I wanted some. My plan is to one day move my betta from his 10 gallon to a 5 gallon and buy some sand and maybe live plants. It has two sponge filters running right now that's been cycled for 1 year. Anyway I was thinking like 5-7 of them? Does anyone have a 10 gallon tank with Kuhlis? I still got a lot of research to do but want suggestions and tips!
LFS baby KuhlI loachs from today!

KuhlI loaches in a ten... Are you sure?
Very much agree. They need more of a footprint. A 20L at least IMO

You need a 20 gallon minimum for kuhlI loaches.

I’ve had no issues with Kuhlis in my 10 gallon, but if you can I would definitely give them more room I wouldn’t get more than 5 in a species-only tank for a 10, but it’s doable. They do get quite large!

I've had mine a 20 high for the last 14 years and they have done decent. Really looking foward to upping their space soon though as they are active swimmers and do need a fairly long tank. They also do best in large groups of a dozen or more, if you want them to be adventurous. I would never recommend a ten for them. They should swim all levels of the tank (they aren't good at it, but they do) and explore regularly and a ten just doesn't allow for that, especially since they can be so quick and have such bad aim.

Plus, they are 4-5 inches.

What!? All my research said 10 gallons were the min for them... Oh well scrap that project, I guess either ADFs or bettas again...

Bettas + rosy loaches
That would be *Betta but I'm sure my fish store does not sell those and I wanted my own ramen noodles. My 20 gallon probably couldnt handle 5 kuhlI loachs either...

You could order them online. The kuhlies could fit in your 20 if it's a 20 long.

P.s kuhlI loaches aren't ramen noodles, they're udon noodles, much more thicc.
