The fish tank is this Maine's perch

This is Nami. She's a 1.5 years old MaineCoon. The apple of my eye <3
She minds the "no cats on the kitchen counters" rule very well, but recently figured out that perching on the tank is a loophole. Too smart for her own good.

I've never used the squirt bottle as the rules can't be enforced if I'm not there every time. Plus, I don't want her associating me with something unpleasant. Scat mats consistently enforce the rules with zero effort on my part so it's a happy household.

It's true, she really would displace everything haha! I did momentarily panic seeing her up there, but I have faith in my lid.
