The evils of walmart

Here is yet another example of why Walmart should be banned from selling fish, and why some people should not be allowed to get pet fish:

A little boy (4-5 yrs old) was looking at the bettas. He accidentally dropped one of the cups, and then ran back to his parents. The cup fractured, causing most of the water to drain out. The betta was literally left with less than 0.5" of water. This wasn't the worst part. The parents just walked away! The nerve of some people. When I told a Walmart employee about the emergency, he acted like it didn't matter and muttered, "I'll contact someone about it."

The gall of some people! A helpless little fish's life was in peril, and they did nothing.

yep... don't you just love walmart... mine has a wall of 10 tanks and crams all the fish into 4 tanks. like 50 fish in each tank when you would just have 20 in each tank.

That's awful! My walmart had maybe 4-5 betta cups on their shelves, and that only lasted one week. Their 'fish center' is also empty (good!) and so is the betta shelf. I hope it stays that way.

Most Wal-Mart actually don't carry fish anymore due to the simple fact of care and animal rights activists.

Its sad to see or hear about stories like this and doesn't surprise me when I hear that most Wally Worlds don't have live fish anymore.

My Wal-Mart Super Center in Southern MN does really well with their aquatic center and Betta's. They have a single person for just the fish department, and another for the rest of pet department. He is always found doing W/C's for the Betta, and cleaning out the main tanks, scrubbing the glass, and cleaning up poo.

Just goes to show it can be done, they just cheap out on employees or manage wrong.

I hope someday my walmart can follow in your walmart's footsteps. Good for your walmart!
