I got my 42g tank going now for the cycle. I got what I thought were guppies to help but they turned out to be zebra/pearl danios (sold at guppy price)! The gal at the pet shop told me to put some vacumed up water from the gravel of my other 5 gallon tank to speed up the process?

Any other suggestion? Am I doing ok so far? ;D

I don't think I would vacuum the gravel to put in the other tank. Scoop it up and put it in a nylon stocking and then place it in your new tank.

Would it be normal for the water to get cloudy on day 3 of a cycle? :-\

Yep I think that is part of the cycle.

it may remain somewhat cloudy for several days, but should clear up on its own. I would not add any chemicals to your tank at this time, as they could delay the cycling process.

Well it's day 5 of cycle and still no ammonia :-\ The water is a little cloudy...I have 9 danios in the 42g tank with a canister filter. I put about a gallon of water from my cycled tank so not sure if that's why I still have 0 ammonia, nitrites and nitrates...maybe it just takes more time? ???
