The bulge on my betta, is it normal

Please click on the for a bigger picture. This is my female betta, I've had her for 10 weeks. Is that bulge normal looking? She has it all the time and not because she eats too much.

My avatar picture is from when I first got her, I guess the bulge wasn't too big then. Hm... so if it gets bigger should I worry?

That's not a tumor, she's either constipated or has an internal infection. Have you seen her defecate? If so, what did it look like?

 

Hm.. I never really notice.

The other two bettas poop normally (like tiny wormy looking poo), but this one has the natural colored gravel so it's harder to see. I'll keep an eye from now on.

 

I'm fasting her today.
She usually eats once a day about 5-6 betta pellets, sometimes instead of that she gets some brine shrimps.

 

Try daphnia, or a small piece of blanched and peeled pea.

 

Yesterday was fasting day, and today I fed her some pea. She pooped normal looking poo about 1/4" long.
I'll get daphnia next time I go out.
I plan to fast my bettas once a week, feed them pea once a week too and the other 5 days regular food.
If she's still bloated, maybe that's how she looks? This is my first female betta. I can see a little white protruding spot under her belly, that's the egg thing, I think.

 

I really don't think it's normal. I've had lots of female bettas, and even when they're eggy they don't look that fat.

Also I would not suggest feeding peas instead of their regular food. Peas are a laxative and should only be given in very small doses in case of bloat.
