The Betta Torture Continues...

I went to the store this morning to see if they had bloodworms for Chuck(they didn't) and I had to look around, I couldn't just leave...I really wish I hadn't looked I can't believe I even considered putting Chuck with Guppies!!! There was this beautiful VT Betta, he was pink and adorable and he was in the Guppy tank and his fins were schreded so badly. I wish I could have taken him home, it broke my heart to see him in there.And of course the employee was clueless and didn't really care much.Do you think I should have done something? I really don't have where to keep him or I would have bought him on the spot I really don't think the shop will move him even though I asked if the Betta is okay in there with Guppies(you really don't want to know what the reply was).

 

What was the reply?

 

"Oh they just nip at each other once in a while, not a big deal, we've kept Bettas with Guppies before and none of the fish ever died"

Yeah somehow I don't believe no fish ever died, that Betta looked scared with all those Guppies frantically swimming around him.I mean, it was a 8-10 gal tank FULL of Guppies, some fish I've never heard of before and the pink Betta.Oh and a couple of baby Apple Snails who were hiding in their shell while all the fish were viciously attacking them(esp the black ones, like I said, I don't know what they were-not Mollies).I just can't get that Betta out of my mind
