Yes, for some reason I have yet to figure, this particular tank kills shrimp.
No problems with fish, just shrimp.

is it just me....or do purple passion danios not look....purple? i've seen them at my lfs, and are pretty....but the word purple is a little misleading. imo. but congrats! ps. I live near a very large aquatics store. just for future reference.

 

They're purple once they are comfortable. It's more of a nice purple sheen rather than an in your face purple though. They get nice red/orange colors in the finnage too. Beautiful fish.

 

ohhh, maybe that's the issue then, in the store they're just kind of blah...like many fish. the idea of a purple sheen sounds really pretty.

 

Exactly, there are so many fish that look BLAH at the lfs, but then you bring them home and give them a better environment, and they end up looking amazing! PP danios are one of those for me. They are VERY active, so I'd bet the house they look better in my 29 gal than in a tiny divided compartment in some pet stores... then if you bring em home and put em in a 4 ft planted, they will just go nuts!
