Tfreema's Angelfish Breeding Attempt

They are all so pretty!!
Ya, none of the koi babies that my koi pair produced ever got anything more than a yellow crown. The mom was such a vibrant red/orange. But the dad was pretty yellow. It almost makes me wonder if he was a true koi. I just don't understand why none of the offspring look like Koi. They just look like gold marbles....with a little extra gold on their caps.

I am glad you are keeping one though You have chosen some great keepers! Tilly is my fave!

Thank you!
Yeah, Tilly is my favorite too. I am really hoping that she and Smokie get along and are compatible. He is a fav of mine too.
The other two could be traded in if all four do not work out together, but I hope it does, even if I have to break out the divider.

Well, I only have 6 angelfish left from the spawn. I am keeping 3. Tilly, BJ (Blackie Jr), and LJ (Lacie Jr lol). I decided not to keep Blinky since there was no orange showing up. The other 3 are runts that are almost big enough for trade in. They are six months old.

I have combined them all in the 55 gallon with Smokie. He is getting along with everyone. I started out moving him in with them into the 45g before the move keeping a tank ready in case things got ugly. There was some posturing for a day or two, but nothing major.
I hope the 4 keepers will co-exist in the 55 gallon long term.
Here is a quick video of them all.

They look great

Hope the move went well, I can't imagine moving all your tanks and worrying about all your gorgeous fish!

Thank you! Even the common marbles have some striking markings and great finnage.

We moved last weekend. I managed to get my 120, 55, 45, 30, and 26 moved over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I still have a 20L double stack, 10 gallon double stack (that will be taken down to be for QTs), and 40b left at the old house so I am running over every weekend to feed and grab odds and end stuff that is left. I will be down to 8 tanks. I tried to do 7, but left the 26g bowfront up for now.

Moving the 120 was the most stressful. If something happened to that thing, there is no just going to buy another one at the local petco. Plus the fish are so large with spiky fins or barbels, that bagging them was not an option. We had to transport in buckets a few at a time. It was a 24 hour period between pulling them out and having the tank moved, set back up, and ready to put them back in so I had two 30 gallon Rubbermaid tubs set up with heaters, sponge filters, small hob, and some of their decor.
Other than a crazy yoyo loach refusing to come out of the big hollow log that is too big for a bucket, it all went off without a hitch. Once I finally could see where he was through one of the openings and determined that end would sit down in a bucket with it almost full to cover him with water, I pulled it out and got that piece transported driving very slowly with my hazards on and my niece holding the bucket to prevent sloshing as much as possible. That was dramatic, lol.

8 tanks? That is some serious down sizing! I'm happy for you though...too many tanks to take care of really takes the fun out of the hobby because you're so busy maintaining things that you don't have time to sit and actually ENJOY the fish. So congrats on getting everything moved successfully!!! I may have to ask you for a breakdown of that process when it comes time for me to move...I thought about hiring someone from my LFS to move my fishy stuff but it might be a little exorbitant...

What a sight you and your niece must have been, driving so. very. slowly. LOL! Hopefully there was no highway involved in the trek home, your poor niece must have been clutching that bucket for dear life. Was she doused in fish water?

Yeah, it was getting to be too much of a chore.

I will be happy to give you any tips I can.

She got just a couple splashes so nothing too bad. We live in the country so not a high traffic road between here and there. Folks around here are used to getting g stuck behind a tractor going from one field to the other, lol.

I really wish I could keep a tank full of angelfish like this.
Got the last 3 runts growing to get ready for lfs and the 4 I plan to try to keep in the 55g. They are all getting along the last 3 weeks. 7 in a 55 gallon cannot be a permanent situation though.
Smokie and Tilly seem to swim together a lot so I hope they continue to get along. They are the two I want to keep most out of all of them. The other two are BJ (blackie jr) and LJ (Lacie Jr) since both look just like the mom and dad I lost.
