I bought this fish at Petland without doing all my homework on Texas Cichlids. Can someone please tell me if this is a regular Texas Cichlid (Herichthys cyanoguttatus) or if this is a hybrid. I would estimate it to be approximately 3.5"? Texas1.jpgTexas4.jpgTexas3.jpgTexas2.jpg

This is a baby pic of my Petsmart, Red Texas hybrid. The second photo is his adult pic. Yours might be a hybrid. The slight red coloration on the gill plate isn't the norm for a standard Texas Cyano. 20181024_200511.jpg20181210_173854.jpg

Thanks, He's about 10" long and has a very healthy set of teeth. He has graduated to his own private tank, located in my wife's art studio. If yours turns out like mine, he will start to lose his mind at about 5" and become a psycho killer. Other than that, he has a lot of personality and a fun fish to keep.
