Tetra missing back fin!!

So I posted a few days ago that my littlest black skirt tetra has lost his back fin. I went upstairs to go to bed Tuesday night and realized he had no back tail at all, just a bloody stump! His top fin is a little raggy looking too. I have 5 black skirts in the tank including this guy and I haven't noticed any bullying. I didn't see the reminants of his tail anywhere either. I dosed the first night with stress coat and melafix and have been using melafix every night since. He's still alive and doing really well. He swims right to the front of the tank to see me and pushes right through the other fish to get food. His little nub isn't bloody anymore and it looks like he's growing little fibers that might be the start of a new tail (I'm not sure if they can actually re grow their tails but maybe) Is there anything else I can do to help him heal faster?

Sounds like you are doing all you can for the little fellow.
You could possibly think about a hospital tank if you have one, so that he can be seperated for recovery
Keep using the Stress Coat, it should really help as it contains Aloavera extract.
Just keep a close eye on the tank, as it sounds like he is being bullied

Thanks so much! Unfortunately my hospital tank is now my betas house but I feel better knowing I've taken the right steps!

IDK if this would be an option.

I would have to look into what trees are safe but it is something I could try. We are in the woods here where I live so there are certainly plenty of trees to choose from!!
