How long have your tetra species lived?

Research shows 2.5 to 4 to 10 years. Curious about yours.

I think mine are a few years at least.

My first tank was with same tetras and they lived 6 years.... It honestly all comes down to keeping good water params and staying on top of things

I once kept a beautiful school of Lemon Tetra,s , and they lasted around 6 + years in good health.
As with all life spans of fish, keeping the water contantly good and disease free is of a paramount importance, as the previous post has already stated

Sounds like I'll have this community for awhile. I have blue neons, black neons, and brass tetras. In a well planted healthy tank.

3 years seems a reasonable expectation generally, anything more is good going though I had an African red eye tetra, Arnoldichthys spilopterus (sometimes called Arnold's Tetra) that lived 16 1/2 years!

Have wondered the answer to this question. My Cardinal Tetras have been with me just over a year. Love the little guys.
