Hey everyone, so for my fourth test in a row. Pretty much been the same.
Ph is fine
Ammonia like yellow/lime green ish 0.25
Nitrite 0 and nitrate 5.0 ppm. I have an active sponge filter in there from a fully cycled tank. Should I do a 50% water change ?

It depends on your plans and how long it has been since you've done a water change.

It’s been a few days I wanted to see if I left it things would go up or down, but in general it’s stayed the same. My axolotl is coming tomorrow night even the .25 ammonia is generally safe and won’t harm him everything else will be fine and the temp is fine too*

If it has been less than a week and the nitrates are holding at 5 a water change doesn't need to be done but it never hurts to do one just to keep on the safe side.

Okay! Thank you. I’ll probably just clean the dirt off the sand which will take some water out and take the fishies out so the tank will be nice for the axolotl tomorrow
