all along I knew about Ph,
but I know nothing about nitrate, amonia, and alkaline,
how much are the test kits usually?
what are the usuall readings?
I need to know for the sake of my fish!
Oh no! You really must know these things! Your fish may die! I believe the Nitrogen Cycle page explains fairly well. Alkaline refers to pH. The more alkaline your water is, the higher your pH. The more Acidic your water is, the lower your pH. https://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
Also most here use and recommend the master kit from api. It is a must. Heres a link to it
