Telescope Goldfish Eyes Peeling?

hI I have a 2 year old telescope goldfish (Samuel) and his eyes are peeling? sorry i'm new at this
well it all started with a small scratch on his left eye, like it has been scratched by something sharp and he was acting normal, there was a storm that night that probably startled him. the next day the scratch started "peeling", kinda spreading like ulcer, the right eye also began to get foggy, I began to do 40% water changes each day(I used tap water). by the next day the injury got worse and the right eye began peeling as well. the following days I've been researching more desperate than ever as poor Samuel's eyes get worse and worse but the only things I've found like it was ulcer and cloudy eye.
please help I don't know what to do, I have no idea what is happening and right now it is really nasty - it is all bloody, it is starting to spread around the head, it is red and peeling as it gets closer to the gills I need help now!

ph for tank: around 6.2
ph for tap water: 7
test kit used: drops
tank: 10 gallons
fish: telescope goldfish (about 1.5 inches) and common goldfish (about 2.5 inches)
recently added an amazon sword plant
about a week ago I added about half a teaspoon of bi-carb soda to raise ph

I'm sorry that your fish isn't feeling well.

From your description I'm assuming you have a liquid test kit. What are the results for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
Your tank is unfortunately very overstocked. None of your fish can live in a 10 gallon tank and the common goldfish need a tank as large as 175 gallons or even better a pond.

Can you post a picture of the fish?

I suggest you get the API liquid test kit if you can. It can be bought on Amazon if you can't find it locally.

I think the telescope goldfish should be in a 20 gallon at least, but the common goldfish you'll never be able to buy a large enough tank for as it needs a pond. I suggest re-homing it.

The condition of your fish is way out of my league in terms of figuring out what's going on, so I'll go ahead and call in CindiL since she's great with fish diseases. Your goldfish definitely needs help!

Hi, welcome to the forum

Wow, that is a terrible infection you've got going and he needs treatment asap. You need some antibiotics, do you have any on hand?
When did this start?

I'd treat with Seachem Kanaplex and Nitrofurazone, found in API Furan-2 or Tetra Fungus Guard, HikarI Bifuran or Jungle Fungus Clear tabs (this one is at Walmart). They all contain the same medicine with different marketing names. I'd do at least 2-four day rounds.

A second option is API Triple Sulfa or Seachem Sulfaplex though the prior is my first choice here.

thank you! I will definitely get an API test kit and I will most likely be giving my common goldfish to my friend (she has a fish pond) or my sister's friend (her dad is obsessed with fish), I feel bad giving him away though
