Teensy bubbles created by my powerhead are filling my tank

On the plus side this oxygenates the water and disrupts the surface which from my understanding is important. Is it safe for me to turn the powerhead (wich is running my ugf) to not bubble in the tank? I have an airstone that's also bubbling but doesn't fill the tank with millions of microscopic bubbles.

I would think it would be fine to have the powerhead not bubble.

I have mine without the bubbles, but I make sure the powerhead agitates the water surface.xx

I have one of those filters that do that, I just clamped the air hose that hangs out of the tank.

As long as the filter & powerhead are rippling the water surface then you don't need the bubbles, the bubbles themselves don't oxygenate the water, it's the disturbance they create at the top that does
