In humans, fish TB causes skin lesions and other localized symptoms. In fish it causes a wide variety of ailments, including bent/curved spine, lesions, bulging eyes, and rapid weight loss. It is incurable in fish and has a high mortality rate.

The viruses are related but they are not the same thing. The fish virus is zoonotic in that it CAN transmit to a human host, but generally just causes skin lesions and mild symptoms.
