My tap water has chlorine in it. Will the roofing water conditioner make it safe or do I need to use filtered water? I have a bit tank to fill and tap water would be easier and quicker but I don’t want to hurt my fish
All tap water will have chlorine so YES All tap water need to be tread..
You should be ok with water conditioner most likely your water will smell like rotten eggs you should keep water rested for couple days.. If you using filtered water you don't need to use any conditioner only regulators to put back some minerals back in water and bring up PH to natural 7..But it is safe with my water conditioner? I just wanted to make 100% sure. I’ve always used filtered water plus conditioner and wanted to know if this is safe
that's what water conditioner is for; it dechlorinates tap water and makes it safe for fish. it also removes any heavy metals. what brand of dechlorinator do you use? seachem prime will also detoxify any ammonia in the water for 24 hours.
I think it's best to fill up big buckets of water and condition the bucket before you put the water in your tank if you're doing a water change, though. some people just put water from the tap straight into their tank and then use the conditioner. it probably won't harm your fish. depends how large your tank is and how large the water change is.
