Tanks In The Uk

Hello fellow Brits!

Does anyone know where you can buy just tanks (not kits), but just glass tanks. I can only seem to find kits for sale. I am pretty jealous of the Americans with their $1 per gallon options at petco.

Any advice welcome.

I too am jealous of the tanks. Do you want just a plain glass one or one with a lid/light? How big?

EBay is good, and you can always sign up for Freecycle (yes, free stuff! Tanks included. I got my 5 gallon free from there)

Where abouts are you (out of curiosity)? I'm just to the left of London when looking at the UK from above

 

Well, I am thinking at some point getting something between a 125l and 180l (I really really want a pleco). My house is quite small and I don't think I could convince my other half about having anything bigger.

I would be happy with or without a lid, probably better without that way I could easily set up my own lights. I've been looking on ebay and there are deals to be had, I'm just curious why the stores only seem to stock kits.

I live in Bristol. I actually used to live in Surrey (Weybridge) about 15 years ago. I worked in a pub, it was good fun!

 

heres a few suggestions

for smaller tanks dennerle tanks are very good quality, rounded fronts some in cube sizes and standard 'oblong' (side note do like their pea gravel they do, also have a 60L) size of tanks; cube 10l/20l/30l/60l 'oblong' 35L/55L (use to be 50L) light fit very easy on these tanks.

for some thing larger evolution aqua 'the aquascaper' range looks amazing, hope to have one very soon. wider tanks so stoking should be fun. size they come in 21l/99/186l/297l/448l/575l. do get a bit pricey tho. these are open tops

also have ADA tank but very pricy for the water vol, interesting sizes tho.


if you would prefer to go in to a shop 'swallows aquatics' tend to have a good range of tanks on display. they also have a website of course.

Your Lfs should be able to order Clear seal tanks, they do a range of sizes.
Another option, although I don’t know about delivery to Bristol but you could give Barlows a call, they make tanks
