Tankmates for Amano Shrimp

I have a 10 gallon heavily planted tank. I've had it at least 5 years. My last fish died and all that's left are about half a dozen Amano Shrimp. I was thinking of having just a shrimp tank. Today I went to the LFS and asked to buy three blue velvet shrimp and the sales guy talked me out of it. He said the amanos might eat the blue velvets. The blue velvets were only about half a cm long and he said they were fully grown.... which I don't think is true, so I'm confused now. Is there anything I can put in with the amanos besides fish?

First, it's possible the guy at the store was confusing amano shrimp with ghost shrimp. I have seen reports that they will prey on smaller shrimp.

Second, mature neocaridina shrimp should be at least 25 mm long, with some females getting close to 40 mm in good conditions.

I've never seen an amano eat any baby shrimp, if the sales guy knows his shrimp then he lacks knowledge, but as proudpapa mentioned he may be mixing them up but I don't think so if he says the dont grow any bigger than ½cm

Thanks everyone. I went back to the store and got them today, and now they're drip acclimating.
