Tank size for snails and shrimp

Can anyone give me any idea of tank sizes to keep rabbit snails and shrimp. I've wanted a shrimp only tank for a while. I was gonna get a small 50 litre tank. But my adult rabbit snail in my 125L wont stop having babies. Currently there are 5. I dont want to get rid and my 125L is well stocked. So I was thinking of getting a 60 or 80 litre to house snails and shrimp. Also what substrate is better for snails and shrimp?

The thing is no matter what you do if you put snails in you'll end up back in the same position your in now, best advise I can give is get a 10/20g for your shrimp and leave the snails out, you'll have to manage the snails you have best you can.
The best substrate I find is play sand from a toy store

I know they will breed but if I have a shrimp and snail only tank then the over stocking isnt as much of an issue. The tank is well stocked with fish whereas the other tank wouldn't be. Just wondering would that size be an ideal range. I dont want to go any bigger as my main tank is 33 gallon

all my shrimp tanks are 10g and smaller, if you keep ontop of the snails breeding then a 10g is perfect if you want to go higher its not a problem, its all down to your space, I did have a 55g shrimp tank which was fine I only reduced the size so I could put two in its place with different shrimp

If you put blue and red together over a few generations they will start to go back to wild brown colour if you're happy with that then yes as for Amano shrimp they fit in anyware

I'm a big fan of pool filter sand. It costs a little more, but both of the brands I've used so far don't need rinsing. At this point in my life the work saved is worth the extra money.

I'm yet to find a sand in the UK that doesn't need rinsing, We live in hope lol

The shop I spoke to told me the exact same so it will probably be red. Next question is how long to run before adding any. I know snails and shrimp need a mature tank
