Opinions on having a pair of juvenile electric blue acaras in a 40 gallon breeder?

I have sterbai corydoras and a couple snails in the 40. I don’t plan on stocking anything more in it if I were to get a pair. My tank is heavily planted.

Online states 30 gl per EBA and 15 gl for an additional one. Thoughts?

I would say you would be ok just because of the footprint of a breeding tank. Especially lightly stocked. Just be aware that they are kinda sorta aggressive and if they pair they will be aggresive if the corys come near their nest.

I agree, I think ok if lightly stocked. Be aware though that Blue Acaras are diggers and anything other than very strongly rooted plants will be at risk.

Hmm..
Depends on what you consider juveniles. I started with an adult pair the male was approx. 3" and the female was approx. 2.5" in a 20L. They spawned, well the rest is history. Right now I have 30+ juvenile EBA approx. 3-4 months young ranging in size from 1"-1.5.in a 33L Along with another 20 in a 20L. So just my .02 you are more than fine in a 40B.
Here is a pic of the pair when I got them from @coralbandit
