Tank Position Ok?

Hey everyone. I plant to put my new ten gallon on this dresser. Its pretty sturdy. Never wobbles and have had it for 15 years. What im wondering is if the window will be a problem. Its not sunny today but this is normally how it stays. And i should probably add that this is usually the farthest these blinds are ever opened. Do you think I’ll run into any problems?

A pre-made background from the store should be thick enough to help keep any of that light out.

Good idea, thanks! I was thinking of putting an old poster board behind tank to try and block out the light too.

Additional heat through direct sunlight could up the temperature of the tank if it reaches it too, so that would be a factor.

Yeah that would help too. Or using the posterboard as the backround instead. Temp cpuld be an issue as mentioned above, but there is a lot at play there, including air temp inside and put, angle of the sun, etc. Best thing to do is pay attention to the tank thermometer and see what it is doing.

Yeah thats why I think fishless cycle is the best for this tank. Ive had good experiences so far with fish-in cycles and prime, but with fishless cycling, I can monitor the temp and angle of the sun like you said. Makes it easier to make adjustments including tank position as needed.
Oh and about the temp both indoor and out. I live in southern Cali so it's always hot during the summer. I have A/C and a fan in my room so the temp is usually around 78 indoors. but I usually set the heater low to compensate for indoor temps. I still buy heaters because it gets cold in winter.

Yeah, Cali winter nights are not fun when wet and soaked in the hills. Don't ask. Lol

Oh one more thing. I olen my window sometimes. Maybe once a month since its normally hot. But as long as I have a heater it should be fine right?

Probably. Just try to remember to pay attention to what affects what and how.
