75 Gallon Tank Tank getting dirty quickly

I have a 75 gallon tank. It has been set up for about a year with 2 Marineland Emperor 400 HOB filters on it. My tank is stocked with the following: 10 neon tetra, 8 glowfish, 4 black mollies, 4 albino cory. My tank keeps getting dirty very quickly. After I clean the glass, do a water change and vacuum the gravel it looks like the attached pictures in about a week. The plants and decorations I have washed at one point and last month I replaced all the plants since they were looking bad. They are artificial plants. Do I need better filtration? I have friends that their tanks look clear and no issues but they have more filtration. Any suggestions?

Huskersfan75 I have false plants like yourself and used to vacuum my 22 gallon once a week like yourself besides changing water but I do like top filter system, I used to get a slight film on my front glass but nothing like yours is showing and it used to take my false plants at least 3-4 weeks to start showing algae build up.
I'm now cycling a 60 gallon with everything false inside and it's on it's 4th week now and everything is fine but when I do a water change I use Aquasafe, API zyme and stresscoat.

I use these for my filter system and match my fluval submerged tank the same.

One of my friends recommended going to canister filter (either Fluval fx4 or fx6) since that is what they have and do not have any issues.

I had this one for my 22 gallon on top and this fluval for submerged but had to get a stronger one for my 60 gallon.

Here's my 60 gallon layout and that's been altered since i've done it.

It is just algae. A big expensive fluval will not keep it cleaner (you have almost as much flow as one anyway).

You need to buy some anubius or guppy grass or some other easy plant. The algae is caused by either extra nutrients or extra light. Either way, if you add live plants, you will help use up the imbalance and make the stuff causing the algae make pretty plants.

If you must get a better filter, get an Odyssea 350 powerhead for $20 on Amazon. They come with a sponge that clips on and are great filters and last for years. (I used 2 for an overstocked mbuna tank, so your tank should only need one at most).

A big expensive fluval
I have to agree so I buy it in bulk and make my own filters up.

Can I plant the plants in my standard aquarium gravel? that is what I currently have for the substrate.

Yes. I've heard you can't plant in sand, but gravel is fine.
cory has lots of youtube videos and podcasts telling how to get started with live plants and which ones are good for beginners.

I'm not sure if they would work for your setup, but floating plants are cool, and don't even need substrate!
