Tank Decorations?

I just set up my tank tonight. Did the pantyhose test on all the decor, got Finley a Betta hammock, but I think I need more stuff. I generally like the tank to be pretty organized, not too random. Do bettas need hideyholes? I musta missed the whole decor part of my research, because I was so lost about it at the lps today lol

This is what I have so far. I do have more plants I can add, but I think I would rather have some sort of building or cave or something like that. I am not sure I like the treasure chest so it will probably go, but the elephant is going to stay.
**Edit I am going to get a background, but wanted to wait to see what the decor ends up looking like. I like them to match

I really like a piece of driftwood or large rock as a centerpiece. It can really "fill" in the aquarium. But I'm guessing you're not looking at a naturalistic look. If not, you can go with a specific theme and stick with it, like an Asian theme (just saying since you have the Asian/Indian elephant), or maybe do something more fun, like a favorite movie or children's story. But keep it focused, so it doesn't look like you're all over the place. A black background can really make the colors of your decor and fish pop out. You can buy one that you tape on, but I used a little tube of black acrylic paint with a small roller, both of which you can get at a arts and craft store. It peels off easily if you want to change the background out if you decide you don't like it. Use your imagination. Whatever deco doesn't necessarily have to be aquarium specific. Good luck.

I wouldn't mind driftwood actually. I kill every plant known to man, so I try to stay away from real plants lol this was the quick little bag of softish type plastic plants they had at the fish store. I have lots of colorful plants, but I have really been liking more greens and browns versus dayglo colors lately. This wasn't a planned tank. I was going for substrate & a heater to do a fishless cycle, and a Betta jumped into my purse, demanding to be purchased lol

I was wanting to do an Asian/Indian type thing. Just thinking that when I do get something, should it be big enough for the Betta to hide in? My tetras in my other tank kinda hide in my castle, but just mostly swim around it.

Thanks scarface

*edit this WAS a planned tank, only I planned to get a Betta in a month or so lol

No it's not necessary to have a hideout. He/She will be fine. A well decorated tank is enough. Betta's don't really hide or feel the need to.

I don't.. know, java moss is pretty hard to kill so I might do that on some driftwood. Just checking (I am completely new here) what's a Betta hammock for.
