Tank Condensation

Hello,

I just bought a used Tetra 20 gallon long and I was doing a leak test and everything seemed fine. But I noticed there is condensation all around the bottom trim of the tank on the outside. It seems to be trapped between the trim and the glass.

I am just curious if anyone has this issue as well? Does it mean that the tank might leak eventually? Or is it safe to use?

I also stripped all the old silicone and resealed it and fully cured before the leak test. There was condensation before I resealed it as well.....

Any help would be amazing !! Thanks !

Are you sure you didn't have a little water run down the glass and get trapped there...because it could probably stay there a long time...I've had experience with that before...but yea a picture would help

There could be a chance that water got in from when I was rinsing the tank... but my main concern is if it's still okay to set up or is that bad for the silicone?

But if it is actually condensation, is that a whole different issue ?

I really don't think it's condensation as in order for that to occur the water would have to be extremely cold in the tank...I mean cold enough to get the glass cold enough to pull water out of the air...I think it is either water just got down there...which is not a big deal....or you have a leak in the bottom lining...if watch the tank and see if the water level in the crack grows

The tank is has been empty but there is still a ring of "condensation" around the bottom trim on the outside .....

Hello,

I have a 20 gallon long and it seems like water is trapped on the outside Between the bottom trim and the glass. Is this bad ? Will it cause issues in the future?

I've done a leak test and there's no leak anywhere.

I really thI k you just got water trapped there after you removed it from the tank....if this is the case then there is no issue
