Welcome to Fishlore

That would depend of the size of your tank. If it is less than 100 gallons you have an issue.

Okay. I would say add a fantail goldfish (make sure it gets food), 5-7 white clouds and 4-6 zebra danios, plus 10 peppered cories (that will be controversial lol).

Be aware that adult goldfish can eat white cloud mountain minnows

You could do something like this
2 common goldfish
20 zebra danios
15 giant dainios or 15 rosy barbs
5 dojo loaches

I'd strongly advise against adding any fancy goldfish there are issues aside from feeding. If the goldfish ever spawn and you have a male common and a female fancy then the faster male common will be chasing the slow female fancy and she will struggle to get away. It can be very stressful for them.

Could you upload a picture of the tank?

Also weren't you the one who said 1 common goldfish could live in a 55 gallon? Errr I don't remember who. Also no corydoras as goldfish accidently like to try and eat them. Then that is a pain to take out because the barbels are sharp and will likely injury the goldfish in the process. (Had it happen)

Oops, didn't think of that thanks for picking up.

Fantails and commons work fine together. Just make sure the fantails gets food. Ryukins, eggfish, celestial eye etc. Might not get a chance as they have deeper bodies, no dorsal fin or impaired eyes.

? I don't think so. I usually recommend 180 gallons minimum. I've kept some in a 200 gallon pond but didn't feel they had enough space so we upgraded to a 1600 gallon pond. I have bred and rescued goldfish and I certainly wouldn't say you could keep one in a 55 gallon.
I totally agree about the cories but I didn't wabt to appear like I was disagreeong with everything that had been said and id already written about the fancy goldfish thing.

I agree with the fancy! Just don't remember who told me. 180 gallons is pretty big. I would say 100 minimum.

I understand a lot of people would agree with 100 gallons but after keeping a couple in 200 gallons and seeing how cramped they are I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There is such a difference in their behaviour in the 1600 gallon pond. I do just recommend 180 gallons because I know most people can't afford a bigger tank, don't have room for a bigger tank or can't build a pond.

I'm saying with only one goldfish. Not multiple. But I know they should be kept in groups. So, yeah you are right.
