Tank Cleaning

Hi,

I recently purchased a home and the previous homeowner left a fish tank behind. I am trying to clean it out but it only has a small opening on top. It looks like the top is sealed on. He had a professional come out with “special tools” and clean it once every 2 weeks. Any advice on cleaning without calling someone. Can I cut the top out ?

I really wouldn't cut the full top out - it looks like its extra support to hold the sides together once the weight of the water is in it. Maybe just enough to get your hand in with a syphon end? That's all you need.

Think the major "specialty" tool you need to clean this is a 6'2" guy (or taller) with long arms.

I love watching my short wife try to clean my tanks with her short arms!!!

Then I'll go clean them and she says ... "How do you do that without getting your armpits wet?"

LOL
