55 Gallon Tank Tank Cleaning Day Today/Who else is with me?

I am tackling my task of cleaning my tanks today!!! I am cleaning my 55 gallon, 10 gallon and 29 gallon. Who else is cleaning their tanks today? I have also figured out it takes 8 1/2 3 1/3 gallon bucks to fill my 55 gallon tank since I only do about a 80% WC once weekly. It takes 2 3 1/3 gallong buckets and 1 little bucket for my 10 gallon and idk about my 29 gallon. It's still cycling.

I clean my house, but not pieces of aquatic nature. That's crazy! ;)

The only cleaning I do, other than the filters, is occasionally vacuuming the substrate (but not very often) and scraping the front glass if it needs it. Some of my tanks rarely or never need that, and some once or twice a month.

I need to clean my house but there's no sense since I'm under construction lol

I do a WC every friday on all my tanks to make sure the waters good for them. I have goldfish and they tend to be messy plus my plecos.... someone's gotta keep em clean lol
Glad I found a new way to refill my 55 gallon tank. Definitely makes it soooo much easier and not having to haul 9 3 1/2 gallon buckets back and forth!

I have quite a collection of 5 gallon buckets so that is what i use. 2 full buckets each on the 20g's, 3 for the 29g. Used to have a 1 gal pitcher for the less than 10 gal tanks when i had those....all makes the maths a lot easier.

I do water changes also, but you said cleaning. Some people keep their tanks too clean, which can cause problems.

I tend to do a 80-90% WC weekly on both 55 and 10 gal tanks. My 29 is still cycling so I'm afraid to touch it honestly. It's definitely a chore and workout lol

It's definitely hard work. I've learned with my 55 gallon I got a blue tub. I put my prime and stress coat in my tub, then fill with water then let my sunk pump do the rest. ALOT more easier for me that way to use a sunk pump since it takes so much water lol

When I say clean I mean.. what I do is take out 80-90% water, vaccum the rocks, under the decor and move the decor around, then refill with treated water. I don't ever touch my glass bc my plecos keep that pretty clean. I will clean rock one week, I'll only do WC the next and suck up any "free floating poop" then refill. I alternate when I deep clean the rocks versus just do w.c.

I also did water changes today, on the big tank (220 gallons approx), the 180l (47 gallon) and the 240l (63 gallons). The other one (150 gallons approx and in a different room) is not due until the weekend.

It's great to get into a general routine to make sure our fish friends are thriving. :D

I did a water change the other day i do about 40 to 50% almost every week and if i skip a week the next week i do about a 60% the good thing is i drain it out the window next to the tank but filling it i go back and forth with buckets why not get some cardio in when doing a water change heh i used to use a hose connected to the sink to fill it ,but it's about 29 feet away and takes some time to get to the tank then you have to worry how the temp of the water is going back in.

I feel that!! Consider getting a sump pump and a blue large tub! Or take the gallons put in the tub then sump it it! Definitely alot easier for sure!!
