How often should you do a water change and vacuum in a 10 gal tank?

If the tank is cycled, once a week should be good.
This of course depends on your stock and feeding.
If you have heavy waste producers or are over stocked more often might be needed.

also could depend on how well planted it is. i typically did a fifty percent water change on my 10 gallon every 2 weeks. i am uping the anty to fifty percent per week as i have 12 tiger barbs in it now and they are pritty small (yes i said 12, just until i can take them to the petstore and trade for some tetras for my big tank)

Is the tank planted? What's residing in your tank? Tanks that are planted may not have to be changed as often as unplanted tanks, and overstocked tanks will need to be changed more frequently, even if planted... so it all depends on how many fish you have in there. I have an overstocked 29g, and I change 3 gallons a day, and 50% weekly.
