Tank addition

I'm thinking about buying a 20 gallon long. I already have a 1g, 3.5g, and 20 gallon high. The 20 gallon might be $20 because of the dollar-per-gallon sale. I found a 29 g stand for $30. Can I get suggestions on equipment at cheap prices? Trying to stay under $100.

Kinda depends on what you're keeping. Cheaper if you're using cold water fish.

There are some decent hob filters and heaters for under $30 on amazon.
pool filter sand is my go to fo extra cheap substrate, you could get enough for under $10.

I was thinking platies, mollies, my betta sorority definately. The only cold water fish I really know and like is white clouds. I found a cheap heater at walmart.Com for $7/8. I found a HOB marina brand for $11-16 on value pet supplies. Pool filter sand is the cheapest substrate? My MTS is strong right now!!

If you're doing a betta sorority, don't add platies or mollies. The betta sororities do best by themselves.

Could I split it I'm half then? 3 betas in one 10 gallon side, other fish on the other side? I'm kinda over betas, so I will probably only add one or 2 more females if necessary. They are currently living In a 20 gallon high with tetras and an otto.

No, that won't work either. In order to put multiple bettas together, you need the physical space of a 20 gal long, and you need more females to spread the aggression.

You could rehome the bettas and use the 20 long for a community?

Alternately in bigger tanks there are other. Fish that do well with bettas, but platies aren't usually one of them.
I'm thinking bottom dwellers. Loaches can be good options. KuhlI loaches in particular.
