I don't know how many of u have read amano's books, but as I have over the last couple days something has stuck out to me. If i'm doing the measurement conversions right, he's got some crazy stocking lists. Like in the 2nd book he has 4 rams in a 10g. Is he wrong? am I wrong? is it bc of all the plants he can do it? what do u all think?

Love his tanks but he does push the stocking envelope a bit Don't know anything about his water change habits.

He puts in his books for each tank how much to change and how often. For the bigger ones usually a half/week.

I've noticed that in Europe, the stocking is different. They tend to stock more fish than in the USA per gallon.

Plants do make a difference in oxygen etc.

Do u think amano's way is better? from reading his books, his fish seem happy.

I think planted tanks in general are better for fish, but never read his books.

I think his tanks are based more on aquascaping than fish care, but that's based on website, not books.

That is stocking them tight, but I suppose if all the rams were the same gender so no pairs formed you could get away with it.

Well some tanks are more based on aquascaping, and others on fish care. And that may be the case with the rams.
