Let’s get some eyes on your finbaby. The best medicine for a torn fin is super pristine water betta warm. (79-80 degrees). But hubby doesn’t see the tear. Rtessy Mary765 Goldiemom can y’all check out this betta for me?

I spy plastic plants in the background...those could very well be the culprit. Do the pantyhose test and see if they pass.

I agree, toss the plastic plants. They aren’t good for bettas. Use live or silk plants. Gypsy- I guess it is a split in the tail. I don’t see a tear either. I don’t think it’s tail biting as it isn’t jagged.

I don't think it's a bite, more like he keeps catchijng his fins on something. It could be the filter but I suspect since you have plastic plants that they are the culprit.

Ok that purple walmart plant I find is the QUEEN of fin ripping. I take my #notspons walmart plants and divide them to betta safe and not betta safe. Those purple ones I found are way to sharp and rough for there long fins. I gave it to my community tank and they haven't ripped their fins yet. ( They all have shorter fins anyway)

Thank you every body! My sister and I both had that purple plant. I tossed mine a couple weeks ago and didn’t even think about that causing it. Thanks so much!!
