Would you classify my betta as a rosetail?

Looks young, finnage should grow out more. I can't say by the pics if its a Halfmoon or veil tail. Wouldnt make any guess on rose tail yet either. But, from the looks of it he is a dumbo.

I got him Friday and they put him as a HM. My other betta I got 2 months ago was labeled HM but he turned out to be a DT

Yeah, don't bother with the label imo. Lets wait a month or 2 for his fins to grow out k?

From what I see, I'm thinking

Super-delta (or HM) with dumbo(large pectoral fins) in which case hed be a rose normally.

It was his Pectoral fins that drew me to him. They reminded me of my old HM betta who had beautiful elephant ears

Dumbos (elephant ears) are becoming more common in the chain stores now. If you can get an upclose and clear pic of the edge of his tail I can get you a positive ID on tail type.

Best 3 I could get. He is a spazzy Tazzy

Can't believe how lucky I am. I have been looking for rosetails.

Any particular reason? Just be careful and know your genetics, its not as simple as just having some extra webbing, there is also a more sinister side to the RT genetic structure, never buy a rose tail that looks to extreme like

or

Both fish show X-factors(shabby fins, uneven scales, etch), which are a side effect of over doing the rose tail(becomes Feather tail) which is not healthy for the fish.

My friend had a HM rosetail and I fell in love with the tail. I got him at Petsmart so I have no idea on his genetics.

Oh no, I mean hes fine, he looks good. I was just referring to when buying, avoid over bred rose tails.

For some reason Petsmart has been selling younger and younger betta's. They used to have adult HM's but he and others were the only ones. No adult fish except VT's and CT's which don't excite me

I got an adorable DT there about a month ago and he was small now he is about 2" maybe? He also got beautiful color on him. He was a pale pink with the ventral fins being maroon. Now he is a beautiful maroon cambo.
