HI Severum Snape,

Most of the swordplants that we purchase in the local aquarium shops, and 'big box' stores are emersed grown so it is not uncommon to lose the older leaves when we submerge them in our tanks. More importantly are new leaves being generated and are they growing normally?

I agree with SeattleRoy above.... Emerged growth on swords is generally more round at the tips of the leaves than submerged growth. If it's the emerged growth it'll die off and the new submerged will grow in, totally normal.

If this is happening to your submerged growth, my next guess without photos is a potassium deficiency. Swords use quite a lot of it, might do full dosage weekly to start and see if there's improvement and if you don't have any root tabs I highly recommend them for swords as they are better at getting nutrients from the substrate than the water column... Plus tabs only need added every 1-3 months, depending.

The only leaf that seems healthy is the newest one. Which is medium sized. I don't see any new growth, yet, but I will keep an eye. The ones that are dying ARE more pointed, so that makes sense too. They do have Flourish root tabs but I am not dosing nitrogen as my nitrates are already sky high. I will up the phosphate as the next step if all else fails.
Thank you for the advice. I'll update if they make it.

I don't think you need nitrogen or phosphate. It's sounds more like a potassium deficiency or possibly iron but without photos I really can't say for sure. Phosphorus and nitrogen deficiencies have very different symptoms.
