I want to know if the shoots coming from my sword are roots and can I cut that stalk free and plant it?

That's called a runner. Usually there are a few baby plants that grow off it. I had a runner with 6 baby swords. Once the roots are a couple of inches, you can cut them off the stalk and plant them.

Yeah those are called "Runners" you can pinch that whole thing off and re-plant it somewhere else. Your swords are looking very good actually which is surprising because it's hard to find a good source for them.

Okay that's good, yeah just pinch those off or cut them off and re-plant them wherever you want and they will grow. It's always good to take off runners because sometimes the "mother" plant will stop growing until that falls off.
