    Hello, i just got my new fluval u2 filter as my mine is old and starting to act up, if i literally take everything from.the old one and put it in the new one, and just change the actual filter will my bacteria and cycle be safe

    That should work out fine. What filter media do you have in it?

    The sponges should carry the BB over, so you should be good I would just be a bit more careful and check ammonia and nitrites for a few days just to be sure, but there should be no issues.

    I've changed the filter the new one has a bbuild up of bubbles on it? Normal?

    That's normal. Give it a tap and most of them will knock off and float to the top.

    I'm going to guess you made a water change. Looks like micro bubbles to me from dissovled co2 in your tap water.
