Swim Bladder Treatment?

So I have a dalmatian molly who is having a bit of a swim bladder issue. He is swimming vertically. He is in brackish water conditions and I just recently did a water change on the tank. I put him in a small bucket with some aquarium salt for 10 minutes then transfered him back to the tank. He seems to be doing a bit better.

How often should I do this until he is better?

So I had the same issue with one of my Mollies and I left it in a lower concentration salt solution (as you did) but overnight. This seemed to help a lot and he is fine now!

It can also sometimes be caused by overfeeding so I wouldnt feed for at least a day and see if this helps also!

Out of curiosity what food are you feeding him? I transferred mine from regular high protein troical flakes to vegetable flakes as livebearers are much healthier on a lower protein diet and all my mollies have done much better!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely fast him then for a day or so and see if that helps. He's been eating tropical flakes and some smashed peas every now and then since I read they like them too.

Should I do a salt bath for him overnight if the vertical swimming continues?

I would do the salt bath but maybe do it at a lower concentration than it suggests as it will be for a longer period or just fast him and then if the problem persists then do the salt bath tomorrow?

Hopefully a good nights rest and no food he will straighten up! Keep me informed how he is

He is swimming so much better today. I fasted him today and did a diluted salt bath over night. Also did a 25% water change again seeing as the nitrates spiked a bit. He is swimming with the rest of his group and keeping up with them. No more vertical swimming. ♥

Epsom salt baths are meant to be better

I did the diluted salt bath with epsom salt as you suggested and it seems to be working a lot better this time. ♥
Thank you!
