Swim Bladder Disease wont go away

I am at a loss at what more to do. I have a male betta with really bad SBD. Cannot swim, stays at the top, on his side because of it. His swim bladder is also visible distended on one side. I got him from someone in his tank with the intention to help him recover. I've fed daphnia, done salt baths, and tried to give him a place to rest so he can get to the surface better. He also has bad fin rot so ive been trying to get that healed up as well. Hes housed in a 10gal with neons (would be my choice) but the neons and him are both not well so I cant move the neons out to the other tank I have planned for them. They have bacterial gill disease, but its clearing up nicely. But for the betta it's been 2 weeks and i've seen no change.

Something has been up with the heater, its set to 78 but has been going way above that. I just added a finnex max-300 heater control to prevent it from going above 78.

Are there any other suggestion or things I can try?

do you know how long he had SBD before you got him? If he went long enough untreated , the its most likely his SBD has become permanent. If his SBD is mild, then he can live with some tank modifications like extra resting hammocks/leaves and lowering the water line 50%. However, if his SBD is very severe to where he is lifeless, then it will be best to euthanize him with Clove oil. SBD is very hard to recover from if left untreated long enough and it's recommended to euthanize if theres no response with treatment after 3-4 weeks.

Ya know it was probably a very long time. He looks lifeless most of the time and barley eats. It’s really a challenge. When I got him he was able to get himself down into the tank more (at least when I picked him up) but maybe the move just put more stress on him.

The cup is so I could try and get him to eat.

I’m actually about to go out of town, I fly out at noon tomorrow so Idk what to do.

Moving and touching him is just adding unnecessary stress... Your best bet is to just euthanize him. Especially if you wont even be home to tend to him daily.....

Maybe leave him with resting spots around the tank and see how he is when you get back.. sorry

I’m not doing that all the time, just wanted to show what he does look like when he swims. He’s in his cup floating in the normal tank currently.

I’m probably just doing to euthanize him. When he’s in his tank he just floats on his side and refuses food when I feed with tweezers. I used the cup to try and feed again but no luck.
