Swim bladder disease of some sort?

There's something wrong with my peppered Cory... I have one cory in my 10 gallon with two balloon mollies and one guppy. The first 3 weeks that I've had this Cory, he acted normal. But starting today I think he is ill and there is something wrong with his internals.. Every hour or so I find him floating at the surface on his side, and he looks lifeless. However when I take my net and touch him with it, he suddenly "comes back to life" and swims to the bottom. Once he's at the bottom he doesn't stay still like usual. He has difficulty staying right on the bottom of the sand and he's floating just above it. He wriggles back and forth and it looks like he is having a really hard time. I feel so bad for him what should I do... And if I can't cure this, should I euthanize him?

I had got a cory that had a similar issue shortly after I had gotten him he died shortly after as long as it is eating well I wouldn't consider euthanasia

He hasn't eaten since yesterday. It looks like he's more concentrated on trying to lay on the ground than actually eating. He doesn't stay still unless he's floating at the surface...

An option for you to research would be an epsom salt bath. I haven't done one myself, so please look into it (or hopefully other member will comment) first, but I believe you can dissolve some epsom salts in a bucket and put your cory cat in the bucket for awhile. I'm not sure how much salt or for how long, but I believe this is supposed to help with swim bladder disorders and/or bloating as it helps pull excess fluids from the fish.

Can you upload any pictures? Does he look bloated at all?

He didn't look bloated at all, looked absolutely normal from the outside. Unfortunately he has passed away :-\

I'm very sorry to hear that

In order to keep your other fish in good health, you may wish to consider upgrading to a larger tank if it is within your means. Unfortunately mollies produce a lot of waste and need larger tanks than 10 gallons. Something to think about

Yeah, my molly's poop so much. The first night I got them I did a water change/gravel vac because all the poop on the sand just looked horrid! But within 24 hours it looked the same -.- they're so cute though. I'm trying to get my hands on a 20 gallon filter.

over filtration is always a must have in my opinion as long as they don't cause tidal waves
