Hey guys!

So I bought a betta from Petco about a week ago and I've recent observed some swelling around the area under his gills. I was wondering if this could possibly be normal and he just overreacting or if there is something wrong with him.

Try baiting him with a mirror or some food. Betta tend to have have some serious A.D.D, so distracting them isn't too hard lol

Just looks like a fatty to me. He needs to go on a diet.

O thank goodness. I've been feeding him 5-6 pellets twice a day, maybe I should cut back down to three. Lol Diet time

Yeah lol I feed NLS pellets, and they are small, so I have to feed 5-6 pellets twice a day. The typical sized pellet should be 2-4 two times a day lol

Alrighty. I'm feeding him HikarI betta pellets. And he seems to enjoy them... A lot

HikarI pellets are a decent size, so they need to be fed in smaller amounts
