SURPRISE! Molly Babies

Last Sunday, my dalmatian molly gave birth. I was sort of expecting it but not positive as I'm new to the fish world and still learning the signs. I missed it all but managed to rescue 3 and put them in a breeeder net.

The next day I spotted another under a rock but wasn't able to capture. Been checking every day but didn't spot again. Pretty much gave up hope.

Until this morning. He's black and that probably gave him survival opportunity.
And now he's safe with his sibs

At 6 days...looking like 1 black, 1 white, 2 spotted. Mom and dad LOOKED like dalmatian mollies when I bought them and listed as dalmatian mollies but I've had them 8m now and I see no white on dad and just a few white spots on mom's tummy

I LOVE Mother Nature

I have 2 mollies that I’ve had since they were born 10 months ago and when they were first born they were all white then slowly got a few black spots and after about 4 months they looked like Dalmatian Molly’s and now at 10 months they are mostly black with little specks of white

One of my lessons learned in fish keeping? Mollie babies are NEVER a surprise lol. Congrats! They’re so cute

Also? Keep your eyes out for more babies. I had 69 babies I fished out and then saw three more one a day as time passes. They actually hung out behind the breeder net which was super smart.

Congrats! The most rewarding experience in fishkeeping. I still look under rocks, behind leaves to see that little movement that makes your heart skip
