Surface scum

Just wondering how to get rid of the scum on the surface of my water. I'm guessing it's there because I have the filter outlet below the surface so it's not get agitated, but I was hoping to get some opinions. It's a pvc canister filter and I don't really want to cut it again if I don't have to.

If it is a film, use Paper towel, lay it on top of the water then pull it off.

I'll have to try that when I get home, thanks.

I do, but I need to get more air line. I used mine to make a co2 system.

Protein film? I give a mist spray of 3% hydrogen peroxide

I bought a 90 degree elbow for the output of my filter so the water is pushed one direction instead of dissipating from the T connector so the surface is getting agitated alot more and keeping the scum at bay. How's that for a run-on sentence! Lol
