I am currently still cycling my 20 gallon high but I wanted to go ahead and get ideas for stocking it. I'm really interested in the sunset thick-lip gourami that my lfs recently got in. I haven't been able to find a lot of information on them or if they're a good community fish. I do know for sure that they are not honey gouramis. Would I be able to do more than one in a 20 gallon? I am also interested in a schooling fish and I was thinking maybe neons, white cloud minnows, or glow light tetras. But I am open to any suggestions.

You could have a pair in a 20 gallon with a small school of neons.
They need a well planted tank as they can be quite shy so the more hiding places you have the more secure they'll feel.

I have a few live plants in the tank to help with hiding places. I'm not really set on a certain schooling fish I'm really just interested in the gourami. Are there any other fish that will get along with them?
