View on the Hoornse Hop.

The place the Dutch defeated the Spanish fleet in 1573. The pic were taken at the spot which is called the Galgenbocht (Gallows curve). The criminals were hung there in that time.

Almost sunset through the Dade County pines, or more specifically, Pinus elliottiI var. densa, currently a variety of slash pine... though some genetic research indicates that it may not be as closely related to typical slash pines as previously thought, so it may be deserving of its own species identification.




Weird... that picture has a line of... what?? Color difference? I don't see that on my phone or PC but I can't get it to go away here. Hope the next one looks as nice to you all as it does to me.

I know these aren't sunrise or sunset photos, but it's my thread so I can do what I want, right? Haha just kidding. But I thought some of you would like these as well. This is from a few weeks ago and is my backyard.


We call this the potting shed. It has the little vine bridge (I don't know what else to call it) that grows honey suckle in the summer. Then there's a little flower garden and a pond that you can't really make out at the moment lol.

wowwww. Just saw several species of migrated birds have returned from Africa this week. Signs of spring !

Kinda old, first two are February/March, last one is just about a week ago. In 8 days I’ll be in Puerto Rico & in 9 days I’ll be on a Caribbean cruise so I hope to have more beautiful sunsets to share soon
