pH: 7.4

Feeding
How often do you feed your fish?
I feed them 5 times a week (I skip Wednesdays and Sundays so they don't bloat)
How much do you feed your fish?
I'm not completely sure how to answer this question, enough for them to be eating for roughly 1-2 minutes
What brand of food do you feed your fish?
Tetra color granules and tetramin tropical flakes. I ground the food and mix them together.
Do you feed frozen or freeze-dried foods?
Yes, twice a week. Frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms.

Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish?
3 1/2 months
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms?
Roughly 3 days ago. I think he has had these symptoms for a little less than 2 weeks, but I didn't think much of them until I saw him today and it was like, oh wow, he's super skinny.
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms?
Sunken in stomach
Have you started any treatment for the illness?
No. I currently have paraguard on hand, but I have not started to treat the tank yet.
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase?
They had ich upon purchase, but I have already eradicated that.
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all?
He has not had any behavioral chances, but now he has a sunken in stomach.

Explain your emergency situation in detail. (Please give a clear explanation of what is going on, include details from the beginning of the illness leading up to now)
A few days ago, I started to notice that the platy was getting skinny. I didn't think much of it as first because it wasn't super obvious. But then looking at him today, I got really worried. I'm emotionally attached to this fish and I really don't want him to die. He acting completely normal, he's always eager to get fed. He swims around the whole tank with all his other buddies. He just seems to get skinner and skinner. It looks like he's only skin and bone now.
I've been doing a lot of research on internal parasites and I think that's what he has, but I'm not completely sure.

I forgot to mention that sometimes they have stringy poop, but most of the time they have normal feces. I haven't noticed stringy poop for a while.

Hi brimynyx

Do you have a de worming routine? How often?

Have you ever de wormed the live bearers?

As the other fish are fine I have to think en food is going into the tank and the fish just has worms.

If you have not treated for worms in the last couple of months try it.
I don’t treat every 2 months as recommended by the manufacturers but I treat all new fish on arrival.

Thank you. I have never dewormed my fish before. I just bought Metroplex and Focus, so hopefully that will work.
