    Hi Guys,

I saw some Algae Eating Shrimp in my local pet shops and thought the looked pretty cool, I'm toying with the idea of getting some but not sure if they'd survive in my tank?

I have an established (open top planted) 40Gal tank containing:

3 x powder blue dwarf Gourami
    3 x guppy
    3 x SAE
    9 x pepper corys
    9 x rummy nose tetra

    Opinions please?

    Thanks

    Al

I don't think they would survive with your fish. The only one that might is an large Amano shrimp.

Fair enough, what about a larger variety like wood shrimp / bamboo shrimp?

I would guess the larger shrimp can survive.

Algae eating shrimp are generally Amanos. Give them hiding places and they'll survive.
