Suggestions for my new tank set up.

It's been a long time since I've had an aquarium, so I'm a little rusty on my aquatic knowledge and was hoping you guys could help a girl out. I have a lot of questions so sorry if this is really long lol.
I have just bought and resealed a 45 gallon Pentagon shaped tank that's in the process of curing.
* It came with a HOB and UG filter. I've never used an UG and am wondering if I should use just one filter or both or get a sponge filter?
*The tank is a cool funky shape, but it limits the type of fish I can have because its tall and not too wide.I'm leaning towards 1 or 2 angelfish and maybe a school of fancy guppies, but I havent thought to far ahead and would love to hear what yall think would work the best.
*I also wanna have a good amount of hardy live plants, but am a little worried that because the tanks tall that the plants wont get enough light? So any suggestions on hard to kill plants or tips to keep them alive would be great. Im also in need of plants that get pretty tall so the top of my tank wont be so bare.
* This is kind of a side note but if yall have any money saving tips or cool diy tank ideas I'd love to hear them.
Thanks

Not sure whether angels would do too well in a pentagon shaped tank. Could I have a pic?
Java fern, anubias nana, water wisteria, crypts, Amazon sword, marimo moss ball, and dwarf rotala are all low light plants so maybe some of those?
UG filters improve the clarity of your tank, so I would use it along with HOB, but that's just my opinion.

Oh it’s a hexagon. Cool. You could have some fun with that. A planted feature in the middle. A nice green ozelot sword in the middle, they grow nice and tall have big green and dark spotted leaves that fan out. You could use some cryptocoryne wendtii around the outside by the glass or anubias Nana petite, or both. Or you could scrap plants altogether and get a nice piece of driftwood for the centre.

You can do a lot with fish in a tank like that. To get the most out of it You could do a community with some guppies for the top, a pair of angels for the mid, and some corys for the bottom.

or

A variety of Small schooling fish in the tetra family.

or

A species tank with a couple of small easy to keep SA cichlids.

I'm super excited about it! I got it with the stand and filters for $40 although I did have to re seal it. I definitely want a community tank. Thanks for your advice! I'll definitely post pictures when I get everything up and running.

I would say keep both filters, it's always good to have as much filtration as you can. Also I personally think you should have at least 4 angels together, to keep aggression down. With 2, one will probably become dominant and the other will be attached a lot, a similar thing will happen with 3.

Do you think my tanks big enough for 4 Angel's and other small schooling fish?

No, I do not think it is big enough for 4 angelfish.
Can you tell us the tank dimensions?
2 angels might also become a problem if they pair up and start breeding. My guys would breed every 2-4 months, and though they were not terribly aggressive to the other fish, those other fish needed to stay far away when the angels were laying/watching eggs/mating.

I think you would be better off with one angel fish, or a pair of pearl gourami, or somthing.
