Suggestions For 50 Gallon Filter?

Hello fishloreans,

I need help with my 2 inch blue crayfish. He's in a 10 gallon by himself with a 20 gallon filter from Fluval. I already switched to the 20 gallon filter from a previous 10 gallon but it still did not help keep his water clearer. His bio load is heavy.

I was told by a friend to get him a 50 gallon one so any suggestions on which one? I'm not sure which brand would be best. Some say "50 gallons" from 20-50 gallons and others say "50 gallons" but from 50-70 gallons. Which should I choose?

Thank you in advance

I think an AC50 is too small for a 50 gallon tank. An AC110 would be ideal or 2 smaller filters if it's a wide tank (not tall).

50 gal I would go for a canister. FluvAl 50 is too small for a 50. You want your gph to be 10* your tank size. In this case, you want 500ish gph filtration power. Fluval 50 I believe is around 200.

Hi!
I realized I wasn't clear with my question but this 50 gallon filter would be for a 10 gallon!
But thank you for the advice on how much the gph should be!
